🌸 I’ve Always Liked Feng Shui — When Cleaning Your Space Heals Your Mind
When I was younger, Dr. Copa, a famous Japanese feng shui master, was everywhere on TV and in magazines.
He used to say that the condition of your home could change your destiny — for better or worse.
I wanted my life to turn for the better, of course, and maybe even strike it rich someday!
So I followed all the “gold in the west” and “keep your water areas clean” advice as best as I could.
But now, years later, I’m a single mother living in an apartment, struggling a little with rising prices and worrying about the future.
Still, I keep telling myself, “This isn’t how my story ends.”
And through the years, I’ve realized something important: keeping your home in order isn’t only about feng shui — it’s a way of taking care of yourself.
🍃 More Than Feng Shui — The Power of a Clean Space
Tidying up your home isn’t just about attracting luck.
It’s about creating clarity — both inside and out.
When your surroundings are messy, your mind feels heavy too.
But when the space around you is bright and simple, your thoughts start to breathe again.
There’s a line from Gen Hoshino’s song “Film” that has always stayed with me:
“If you’re going to live, then create — create the scenery before your eyes.”
I love that phrase.
(And another line too: “Electric light can’t capture the darkness.”)
Spiritually speaking, it reminds me that the reality before us is something we create ourselves — for better or for worse.
That’s why keeping a clean and peaceful home feels so powerful.
It’s like aligning the outer world with your inner one.
🧹 Letting Go and Lightening the Load
These days, I try to keep my floors clear and my rooms simple.
If I don’t use something, I put it away — or, ideally, let it go.
I tend to hold onto things, both objects and emotions,
so decluttering is always a small act of courage for me.
I once heard a YouTuber say,
“Get rid of 80% of your things.”
That sounded impossible!
I love taking care of my belongings, and I believe that’s part of who I am.
Still, little by little, I’m learning that letting go makes space — not just in my home, but in my heart.
🌼 In the End
Feng shui and cleaning aren’t really about chasing luck.
They’re about reflection, self-respect, and creating a gentle rhythm in your everyday life.
When the space you live in feels light and balanced,
your thoughts soften, and gratitude finds its way back to you.
Maybe that’s what real “good fortune” is —
a calm heart in a peaceful home.
