Falling into the World of Divination
It’s been about ten years since I started getting into fortune-telling.
Whenever I faced big changes or moments of confusion in life, I found myself booking a session with a psychic or astrologer — probably around ten different people in total, once a year or so.
To be honest, I’ve never had a reading so spot-on that it gave me goosebumps.
Sometimes it felt accurate, sometimes not so much.
But every session cost money — anywhere from $50 to $300.
Looking back, I sometimes think I could’ve invested that money in stocks instead!
Still, at the time, I was searching for answers.
Sometimes I left feeling encouraged and hopeful; other times, more confused — though not too often.
Becoming the One Who Reads
At some point, I became fascinated with doing readings myself.
I learned the basics of astrology and tarot,
and there was even a time when I watched “Pick a Card” tarot readings on YouTube almost every day.
(Okay, I still do sometimes.)
The deeper I studied astrology, the more interesting it became.
It’s not just fortune-telling — it’s a way people throughout history have tried to understand time and change.
These days, I enjoy it with a healthy sense of distance — not as something to depend on,
but as something that helps me reflect on life.
No One Knows the Future for Sure
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
No one truly knows the future.
Even the hardest times eventually pass — whether it’s because of time or because of something you did to move forward.
Then one day, you look back and realize, “That difficult moment was actually part of the path that led me here.”
When I Read for Others
Reading for others made me realize how powerful words can be.
The way you interpret a card or an aspect in someone’s chart can influence how they see their own life.
That’s why I always tell people, “Please take this as guidance — not as a decision-maker.”
Sometimes, simply talking to a reader helps clear your mind —
just like venting to a close friend.
And it’s funny how advice that didn’t resonate when a friend said it
suddenly hits deep when it comes from a reader.
My Relationship with Spirituality
I still love spirituality.
I believe there’s more to this world than what we can see — energy, intention, the power of prayer.
But I’ve also come to understand that no one can change your life but you.
Taking action doesn’t always bring instant results,
but even a small step can start to shift things.
Finally, there’s a lyric from TM NETWORK that always stays with me:
“I love you — only I, beyond time, can save you.”
For me, “you” and “I” in that line are the same person — myself.
And somehow, that thought feels deeply comforting.
