On September 10/11, 2026, we have a New Moon in Virgo.
A New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon meet at the same point in the zodiac. This time, they come together at around 18 degrees Virgo.
So, let’s talk about Virgo.
Even among the three Earth signs, Virgo seems to have a slightly different character from Taurus and Capricorn.
Taurus seems to know how to enjoy the physical world through the five senses, while Capricorn somehow gives me CEO vibes.
And Virgo?
I picture someone quietly working behind the scenes, making sure everything is organized and running properly.
How can this be done more efficiently?
How can this be cleaner, easier, or more useful?
Is there a mistake somewhere that nobody has noticed yet?
Virgo uses both the mind and the hands to analyze, organize, and improve whatever is right in front of them.
Other people may look at all that attention to detail and think, “That sounds exhausting.”
But Virgo may actually enjoy it.
Noticing the little things, being useful, and making things function better are some of Virgo’s natural strengths.
And that is the sign hosting this New Moon.
This makes it a fitting time to review and improve our work, health, daily habits, organization, and everyday routines in practical ways.
Instead of saying,
“Someday, I’d like to change this…”
Virgo asks:
“Okay, so what exactly are you going to change first?”
Uranus Turns Retrograde, While Mercury and Venus Change Signs
There is much more happening in the sky than just the New Moon.
On the same day, Uranus begins its retrograde in Gemini.
From here, Uranus will gradually move back toward the degrees it passed through earlier in the spring.
Uranus is associated with innovation, reform, disruption, and breaking away from the way things have always been done.
So perhaps some of the changes and new directions that began developing in the spring will need another look.
“Wait a minute. Is this really the direction we want to go?”
It may be a time to pause, reconsider, and make adjustments.
Meanwhile, Mercury moves into Libra.
Mercury is the planet of communication and thinking, while Libra values interaction, exchange, and balance.
Conversations and exchanging ideas with other people may become especially interesting.
Instead of thinking about everything alone, simply asking someone,
“What do you think?”
could lead to an entirely new idea.
And then Venus moves into Scorpio.
Venus represents love, pleasure, relationships, and what we value, while Scorpio wants depth and emotional intensity.
So rather than keeping things light and casual, we may want to go deep with someone we really care about and enjoy our own private little world together.
However, Venus also forms a tense aspect with Pluto.
That intensity can sometimes become obsession, jealousy, possessiveness, or an urge to control another person.
So try not to get too carried away.
And if you suddenly realize that you might be the object of someone else’s obsession…

A Grand Trine in the Air Signs
Another striking feature of this New Moon chart is a Grand Trine involving Mercury in Libra, Pluto in Aquarius, and Uranus in Gemini.
Libra, Aquarius, and Gemini are all Air signs.
The Air element is associated with information, language, intelligence, communication, ideas, and connections between people.
And here we have:
Mercury = thinking, talking, communicating
Uranus = innovation, technology, breaking conventions
Pluto = profound transformation and power
Put them together, and it almost looks like ideas are flying around about new technology, information, the future of society, and even new ways of working.
And then something else joins the picture:
Neptune in Aries.

Neptune symbolizes dreams, ideals, imagination, intuition—and sometimes illusion.
With Neptune joining the configuration, the Grand Trine forms a Kite pattern.
And looking at this chart, I can’t help thinking of the old Doraemon line:
“Wouldn’t it be nice if we could do this?
Wouldn’t it be nice if that were possible?”
It feels almost as though everyone is sitting around imagining the future together.
“Maybe we could do this.”
“Wait, what if we tried it this way?”
“Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could do that too?”
Ideas going back and forth, imagining possibilities that do not quite exist yet.
But while Neptune can inspire dreams about the future, Neptune can also create illusions.
So this is also a good time to be careful about accepting information at face value or believing something simply because we want it to be true.
Dream freely—but keep checking in with reality.
Especially now, with rapid advances in technology such as AI, things that would have sounded like science fiction only a short time ago are increasingly becoming possible.
So why not imagine the future?
The problem is that Neptune’s dreams and ideals still need a form.
And that brings us right back to the star of this New Moon:
Virgo.
Dream.
Come up with ideas.

And then Virgo walks into the room and asks:

That may be the real message of this New Moon.
You don’t necessarily have to start something huge.

Organize your schedule.
Change one daily habit.
Improve the way you work.

There is something about writing things down by hand that feels almost like a direct connection to the brain, doesn’t it?
It can also be a nice place to write down ideas, intentions, or something new you would like to begin around the New Moon.
Turn dreams and ideas into small, practical actions in the real world.
That feels like a very Virgo kind of New Moon.
